Riplay

Adventures and activities for children of all ages – and their adults. We have plenty of space for exercise, play, learning and development.

Children can explore the castle “Riberhus”, climb the flood column “Stormflodssøjlen”, hover like birds in the Wadden Sea, eat their packed lunch or cake in the Viking Houses and then go on to climb the gallows hill “Galgebakken”. Or how about riding one of the 20 slides in the park?

We further have one of the longest single play worlds in Northern Europe – our 107m long obstacle course.

All the activities are surrounded by a 400m long running track and the park also includes trails for walking.

The park is built from sustainable materials – 24,000 recycled sports shoes were for instance used for the fall protection surface and running track.
The UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 on sustainable energy is conveyed and incorporated in activities, where children for instance learn to generate energy for charging mobile phones. Esbjerg Municipality is a centre for development of sustainable energy and Riplay is an excellent example of this.

After visiting Riplay, you may want to learn more about Vikings, the Wadden Sea, the flood column and the burning of witches at Galgebakken. The various museums in Ribe offer information about all of this. However, a short walk around Ribe can also be a journey into history, and visiting Ribe as a family is therefore one great adventure.

Play and learn with us. We convey Ribe’s history by means of short audio clips at the activity spots. QR codes take you to our website www.riplay.dk with links to more stories and information about Ribe.
